early Renaissance mouthpieces after Guitbert 1442

early Renaissance mouthpieces after Guitbert 1442

Two mouthpieces for customers in Landshut, Germany, based on one belonging to the 1442 trumpet by Marcian Guitbert, Limoges, in a private collection in France. Both are constructed in 0.5mm brass. One is built slightly larger, and with a deeper cup and larger throat. The matching businen after the Billingsgate trumpet fragments in London are presently under construction.

I’ll post more of my thoughts on the Billingsgate fragments once my copies are completed.
